NLP to NDEs with Adele Anderson, Part 2 of 2

Last week we covered Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) with our guest Adele Anderson. Adele is an NLP Trainer and life coach who had a Near-Death-Experience (NDE) at age 27. Her recovery and exploration of the experience led her to the study and practice of NLP. 

Her current focus is working with clients who have suffered loss and who are ready to re-define their relationship with grief. In this second episode, we discuss her NDE, how current brain science supports a more holistic view of Mind-Body-Spirit, and how our words effectively shape our reality. Enjoy the conversation!

 

Adele Anderson Bio:

 At 27 years old, Adele Anderson survived a plane crash. That near-death and life experience changed Adele’s path and led her on a deeper journey of discovery so that she could help others.

Little did she expect she would experience a significant loss later in life.  Adele admits drowning in a capsized plane was easier than becoming a widow. Her grief from the loss of her life partner proved deafening, a deep wound that still weeps when the Band-Aid is pulled off, raw and tender when touched. 

 

Loss challenged every aspect of her life, but she did find relief through community, neuroscience, nutrition, and by embodying a rich spiritual practice.  Adele is an NLP Trainer, Homeopath, and Soul Coach and has had the privilege of helping those seeking happiness since 2002. Along with being an author, Adele has been on countless stages sharing her messages of hope. How do you find happiness when life doesn’t look so bright?  Ask Adele, she will light the way

Yeah, so fun to be here. love spending time with

Yeah. So for our listeners, if they haven't

Okay. Adele Anderson from life coach, Adele,

Adele Anderson:

I'm an NLP trainer, which means I trained practitioners in

Adele Anderson:

neurolinguistics programming. And I am also a coach that helps

Adele Anderson:

people through the life and death process. So I assist

Adele Anderson:

grieving families to find grace grounding and growth.

Jen Lang:

Beautiful. That's wonderful. How fantastic. So

Jen Lang:

then how, tell us how you got into that specific aspect of the

Jen Lang:

NLP work?

Adele Anderson:

Yes, so my husband died last year. So that

Adele Anderson:

was a journey, like no other. And until you've really had a

Adele Anderson:

deep loss, they call it a catastrophic loss, a loss of a

Adele Anderson:

parent, child or a spouse. And that really changed my outlook

Adele Anderson:

on the need to help families through this, because I've never

Adele Anderson:

experienced something that was so crushing. And I had a lot of

Adele Anderson:

tools that I didn't have enough tools. And so through the

Adele Anderson:

process of my own grief, over the past only nine months now,

Adele Anderson:

I've developed a way to help people to really shift the deep

Adele Anderson:

emotions that come up with grief. And to understand that we

Adele Anderson:

were never meant to live, this isn't a lifestyle to to be

Adele Anderson:

grieving. And that emotions, if we compare them to a physical

Adele Anderson:

ailment, because they have a lot of physiology attached to them,

Adele Anderson:

but to understand, if we leave that unchecked, for two to three

Adele Anderson:

months, it can become a mindset. And then if we leave that

Adele Anderson:

unchecked for four months, it becomes chronic. And that means

Adele Anderson:

it becomes a personality trait. And so if you know of anybody,

Adele Anderson:

and we usually do have someone that we know of or even know

Adele Anderson:

personally, that has never gotten over a deep loss, and it

Adele Anderson:

becomes them. And that's really, really sad. So I just found that

Adele Anderson:

this is a passion purpose project for me, is to help

Adele Anderson:

people remove this deep emotional pain.

Jane Stark:

Wow. So you mentioned that you had a lot of

Jane Stark:

tools, but that you realized that you actually were still

Jane Stark:

missing some what what were the tools that you felt like you

Jane Stark:

were missing or that you've had to bring into your life through

Jane Stark:

this process.

Adele Anderson:

So I really I really believe that grief is a

Adele Anderson:

body mind and soul solution. And even though I'm I was a very

Adele Anderson:

spiritual person, because I'd had the near death experience

Adele Anderson:

that didn't make it any easier when my husband passed, the

Adele Anderson:

grief was devastating. But I found that it was really the

Adele Anderson:

soul connection that I needed in order to heal. I really felt my

Adele Anderson:

soul was broken. And until I plugged in deeply, to that

Adele Anderson:

spiritual part of our beingness I, you know, I was struggling

Adele Anderson:

and that was a key awakening for me is you know, we talk about

Adele Anderson:

body, mind and soul but what does that mean, and what part of

Adele Anderson:

our beingness and we can get into the infinite nature of

Adele Anderson:

beingness. And the science behind it, which, you know,

Adele Anderson:

tells us that eternal is irrefutable. Now, the science.

Jane Stark:

Yeah, that that side, it fascinates me as well.

Jane Stark:

And even what we're seeing right now, and you know, you're from

Jane Stark:

our last interview, you're very much rooted in science, right?

Jane Stark:

We talk all about the brain science and whatnot. So I find

Jane Stark:

it fascinating how sometimes, and again, the narrative that we

Jane Stark:

hear so much right now is about the science and the spiritual

Jane Stark:

side, there's like this polarity where it can't be both. So

Jane Stark:

hearing what you're sharing right now just gives me chills

Jane Stark:

in that, you know, because I really do personally believe

Jane Stark:

that. It's both. And I've also had a near death experience. So

Jane Stark:

I have a little bit of that context as well. But I'm just

Jane Stark:

fascinated by that. And I would love to dive into that even a

Jane Stark:

little bit more with your experience around this and how

Jane Stark:

you've brought those two together and felt that both of

Jane Stark:

those tools are the pieces, the pieces that you needed.

Adele Anderson:

So if anybody's, you know, searching for that

Adele Anderson:

information, I mean, there is so much information out there,

Adele Anderson:

there's 50 years of resuscitation research, there's

Adele Anderson:

50 plus years of Near Death Experience Research, which

Adele Anderson:

really is irrefutable. You know, a near death experience has very

Adele Anderson:

many very common themes that, you know, 5% of the world's

Adele Anderson:

population of habit has had m&d 17% of those people have

Adele Anderson:

cognitive recall, which is different from daydreaming or

Adele Anderson:

wishful thinking where they can actually recall specific

Adele Anderson:

incidences typically in a clinical setting where maybe

Adele Anderson:

they've died on an operating table. So you know, these are

Adele Anderson:

the, these are the research documents that are better there.

Adele Anderson:

But if we look even into like some of the leading scientists

Adele Anderson:

today, and I'm a follower of Dr. Robert Lanza, and he has a book

Adele Anderson:

that's called biocentrism, which is sort of the next step out of

Adele Anderson:

quantum physics or quantum theory, where Einstein had

Adele Anderson:

quantum physics as the formulas for space and time and there was

Adele Anderson:

always the inability for that to be correct in every

Adele Anderson:

circumstances, they always had to make little adjustments. And

Adele Anderson:

so Robert Lanza, took out physics and put in biology and

Adele Anderson:

now all of a sudden, all of those formulas work. So, so it's

Adele Anderson:

really fascinating. You know, what Einstein said it, you know,

Adele Anderson:

there's all the way through time you can think of all the great

Adele Anderson:

philosophers which philosophers 100 years ago, or were simply a

Adele Anderson:

change name to scientists these days. But, you know, time and

Adele Anderson:

space are an illusion. It's an insect that we've used as a

Adele Anderson:

human being. And so if time and space do not exist, then life

Adele Anderson:

and death are also an illusion. So there is overwhelming

Adele Anderson:

evidence in the eternal nature of our beingness

Jen Lang:

and that is our episode everybody.

Jane Stark:

Life and death is an illusion. Mic drop,

Jen Lang:

we're out mic drop and for done so first, serenity.

Jen Lang:

Yeah. Okay.

Jane Stark:

So can you take us back? Can you take us back and

Jane Stark:

share a little bit of the story of your near death experience?

Jane Stark:

It was in a plane crash if I'm not mistaken.

Adele Anderson:

Yeah, a small plane town tandem plane,

Adele Anderson:

amphibious, which means it has pontoons. So I was 27. I said,

Adele Anderson:

it's a perfectly sunny day, you know, the ones bright and balmy

Adele Anderson:

and with Phil with the adventures of a 27 year old and

Adele Anderson:

we have been out flying over patchwork green fields that were

Adele Anderson:

stitched together by a Snake River and then banked on either

Adele Anderson:

side by snowcapped mountains. And I'd really spent the day

Adele Anderson:

dropping in and out of the sky, and with the windows open and

Adele Anderson:

the smell of fresh cut grass on the air that you know, blew

Adele Anderson:

through the air in my mind. And then we were heading back to the

Adele Anderson:

airport that small planes can't fly at night. So you know, we

Adele Anderson:

would have already turned the plane around and are heading

Adele Anderson:

back and then his voice erupted over the the earphones and I

Adele Anderson:

followed my gaze past his outstretched arm past his

Adele Anderson:

fingertips that pointed to this river far below us. And he

Adele Anderson:

wanted to take this the plane and sweep it down and he would

Adele Anderson:

skip it across the water like flat stones and then roar back

Adele Anderson:

up into the sky. So without a care in the world, I you know, I

Adele Anderson:

felt the nose of the plane tilt towards the earth and we just

Adele Anderson:

pummeled downward just like a roller coaster. Wow. And then we

Adele Anderson:

made contact with the water and the plane flipped. It drove the

Adele Anderson:

nose of the plane deep in the water flooding the cabin. I saw

Adele Anderson:

him go under I went to take a breath of air and my mouth

Adele Anderson:

filled with water. And there I was upside down total blackness.

Adele Anderson:

Buoyancy pulling me up gravity pulling me down. Things were

Adele Anderson:

bumping my body it was very confusing. I had a mouthful of

Adele Anderson:

water and lastly, I discovered I was trapped. The three point

Adele Anderson:

harness had tangled around the lifejacket who words that I was

Adele Anderson:

wearing, and I couldn't find the release. So the next thing I

Adele Anderson:

felt was my feet hit the cabin floor hard and I pushed, but it

Adele Anderson:

simply dug the three point harness into my shoulder blades

Adele Anderson:

again, confirming that I was trapped. And then I, you know,

Adele Anderson:

was trying to open my eyes, but there was gasoline in the in the

Adele Anderson:

water, and it just seemed my eyes closed once again. And I

Adele Anderson:

remember that feeling and my long hair was being drugged

Adele Anderson:

through my eyelids. And I was, you know, sort of fighting for,

Adele Anderson:

you know, where to find this harness. And then I noticed this

Adele Anderson:

tingling sensation start to go through my fingertips and moving

Adele Anderson:

into my extremities. And we all know this feeling. If we were

Adele Anderson:

ever that kid who tried to swim underwater as far as we could

Adele Anderson:

go, we know when we had to come up. And that was happening to me

Adele Anderson:

then. And it was sort of, you know, sending a warning sign

Adele Anderson:

through my brain and been a lifeguard competitive swimmer, I

Jane Stark:

knew exactly what was happening. So you were

Jane Stark:

familiar with water. Yeah,

Adele Anderson:

very familiar with the water wasn't panicking

Adele Anderson:

at this point. And so that was like striking a match and movie

Adele Anderson:

of my life began to flash in front of my brain, in front of

Adele Anderson:

my mind's eye. And so you know, billions of images from the

Adele Anderson:

moment of my birth, came all the way through that day. And like

Adele Anderson:

the sun going down on that day, I separated from my body. And

Adele Anderson:

then all of a sudden, my perception, my perspective

Adele Anderson:

changed, I was somewhere above myself in this bright light that

Adele Anderson:

was shining like a flashlight down onto that plane below. And

Adele Anderson:

I could see her upside down in that plane with her long blonde

Adele Anderson:

hair blowing wildly in the water. And yet, I felt strangely

Adele Anderson:

unattached to her pain, and, you know, unconcerned with her

Adele Anderson:

welfare. Because where I was, I was just fine. I felt peaceful,

Adele Anderson:

serene. And I had this this permeating feeling of

Adele Anderson:

unconditional love. And then, I was given a gift, I was given a

Adele Anderson:

preview of what would happen if I was to die. And that would be

Adele Anderson:

two police officers walking through my parents front yard at

Adele Anderson:

the big red brick steps and knocking on their old wooden

Adele Anderson:

door. And my parents answered the door. And I couldn't hear

Adele Anderson:

the conversation. But I heard I watched their facial expressions

Adele Anderson:

change from confusion to acknowledgement, and then it

Adele Anderson:

turned to horror. And at that point, inside my mind, my mum

Adele Anderson:

collapsed to the floor, She covered her head with her hands,

Adele Anderson:

and she screamed, and she screamed really loud inside my

Adele Anderson:

head. And this is when I made the choice that I wasn't going

Adele Anderson:

to die that day. And that put me back in my body where I was out

Adele Anderson:

of breath, and out of time, but I made a very concise choice

Adele Anderson:

that I was getting out of the plane now. And this is the mind

Adele Anderson:

science behind choice. There's no right, there's no wrong,

Adele Anderson:

there's no room for questioning, getting out of the plane now.

Adele Anderson:

And that was like flipping another switch inside my mind.

Adele Anderson:

And all of those pictures that had flash forward in time began

Adele Anderson:

to go in reverse. Back in Time now working my demand, or my my

Adele Anderson:

ask to find a way for me to escape a plane that had crashed

Adele Anderson:

and overturned in water. And that the picture stopped in

Adele Anderson:

front of a scene of a movie that I'd watched decades before, did

Adele Anderson:

not know the name of the movie, or what came before after the

Adele Anderson:

names of the actors never knew anything about it. But the scene

Adele Anderson:

in front of my mind's eye gave me all the information I needed

Adele Anderson:

to escape a plane that had crashed and overturned in water.

Adele Anderson:

And I followed the script and I escape the plane and save my own

Adele Anderson:

life. Yeah. So there was many things that I learned that day.

Adele Anderson:

But two really fundamental ones, it's I was no longer afraid to

Adele Anderson:

die. I knew that there was something beyond what I saw at

Adele Anderson:

first glance, and that gave me you know, they even say it

Adele Anderson:

changes your brain, people that have had near death experience,

Adele Anderson:

think differently. And I believe that's true. I couldn't explain

Adele Anderson:

how I survived until I found NLP. But the other thing that I

Adele Anderson:

really knew that even in life's most dire circumstances, when we

Adele Anderson:

think we're out of breath, and out of time, we still have

Adele Anderson:

ability to make choices that can change the trajectory of our

Adele Anderson:

life. And this is also mind science. And so then, you know,

Adele Anderson:

we fast forward into my work, finding NLP, understanding why I

Adele Anderson:

survived. And then, you know, life continues to unfold. And

Adele Anderson:

then last year, my husband died. And that became, you know, a

Adele Anderson:

very difficult journey for me. You know, my soulmate being

Adele Anderson:

separated from him, and all of the depth of grief that comes

Adele Anderson:

from that.

Jen Lang:

Interesting. So at the point of this, thank you for

Jen Lang:

sharing your story, by the way, and that's it's really, really

Jen Lang:

fascinating process about that choice point. I've which I've

Jen Lang:

heard read before and I even I've read Dr. Eben Alexander's

Jen Lang:

books on both Proof of Heaven and living in a conscious

Jen Lang:

universe, I think is the more science based, which is I prefer

Jen Lang:

that book. It's really fascinating around nd ease, and

Jen Lang:

we will put the names of these resources as well as the Dr.

Jen Lang:

Robert Lanza resources you mentioned, we'll put all of that

Jen Lang:

into the show notes for our listeners. So you can go and

check those resources out. But what I want to get back to is

Jen Lang:

when at the time of that crash, so I have a question did the

Jen Lang:

pilots arrive?

Adele Anderson:

The pilot did survive.

Jane Stark:

I was wondering that too. Yeah. He,

Adele Anderson:

he was under a lot longer than I was I

Adele Anderson:

actually, you know, curled up onto the pontoon. Almost like

Adele Anderson:

having a high thought it was an Olympian threw my hands to the

Adele Anderson:

sky, and that had a big screen, and then I dive back in the

Adele Anderson:

water, but it was pitch black. The plane was moving quite

Adele Anderson:

quickly in the current and I never did find him. But on my

Adele Anderson:

third dive, when I resurfaced, he was up and he was vomiting,

Adele Anderson:

hanging onto the side of the pontoon. So he was one lucky

Adele Anderson:

guy.

Jane Stark:

Did he do you know, if he ended up having a similar

Jane Stark:

experience like an NDA II as well, or?

Adele Anderson:

I think he did. I don't think he did.

Adele Anderson:

Interesting.

Jane Stark:

Sorry, Jen, was that you had another question? I

Jane Stark:

think. Yeah. My other question

Jen Lang:

was did Had you met your husband at this point?

Adele Anderson:

I met my husband shortly after that. Okay,

Jen Lang:

fascinating. Yeah. So interesting. When we have these,

Jen Lang:

I know, Jane's got a question, I'm just going to have a quick

Jen Lang:

statement here about when we have these experiences. And then

Jen Lang:

we meet someone after these experiences, and we are with

Jen Lang:

that person for whatever time we have with them. However, that

Jen Lang:

works. And the sort of, I'm gonna say codes and information

Jen Lang:

that we exchange and have with each other. And it can be an

Jen Lang:

intimate partner, it could be a spouse, it could be simply a

Jen Lang:

friendship that lasts two or three years, and then you each

Jen Lang:

go your separate ways. But it really does get me thinking

Jen Lang:

about this limited experience we have as a human being in all the

Jen Lang:

facets and ways that we are humans. And at the same time,

Jen Lang:

all the beautiful infinite possibilities that live beyond

Jen Lang:

that energetic space that we referenced in sort of the first

Jen Lang:

and the first time episode last week. So I wanted to put that

Jen Lang:

out there because it's just such a, I find this stuff super

Jen Lang:

fascinating. And I like the brain science behind it. I play

Jen Lang:

in more in the in that spiritual liminal space, myself, so it's

Jen Lang:

very, I have not haven't had an NDA II. But I've played in that

Jen Lang:

space and done lots of traveling and journeying. And yeah,

Jen Lang:

connecting in other different ways. So yeah, it's just

Jen Lang:

amazing. It's so fascinating to me how we can have these

Jen Lang:

beautiful experiences and yet find this amazing common ground.

Adele Anderson:

Yes, totally. Now, there's a very cool if

Adele Anderson:

people are interested in you know, life after death, life

Adele Anderson:

between life, there's a beautiful, he's a PhD in

Adele Anderson:

psychology, his name is Dr. Michael Newton. And he has a

Adele Anderson:

book out, I think that it's called life between life,

Adele Anderson:

something like that, but I can get the reference for you. So

Adele Anderson:

hypnotherapy, and he was doing a lot of past life regression

Adele Anderson:

trying to, you know, work with people, very, very renowned

Adele Anderson:

guys, like we're talking, you know, hundreds of 1000s of

Adele Anderson:

people working. And so he would be doing past life regression

Adele Anderson:

with people and trying to solve physical ailments that they just

Adele Anderson:

couldn't seem to overcome. One, for example, I remember was

Adele Anderson:

something like this guy had a permanent lamp, and he and

Adele Anderson:

always pain in his leg. And through past life regression,

Adele Anderson:

you know, he had lost his leg as a war, some sort of war thing.

Adele Anderson:

But it was very unexpected that he dropped into life between

Adele Anderson:

lives. So it was something that was beginning to happen more

Adele Anderson:

frequently. So then his work really went into the life

Adele Anderson:

between life and the journey of the soul. And what happens to

Adele Anderson:

the soul between lives. And the amount of research that he

Adele Anderson:

gathered over decades was phenomenal. So my aunt can see

Adele Anderson:

the development of the soul through the colors that they

Adele Anderson:

become the pods that they're in the, you know, their circle of

Adele Anderson:

beings that stay with them through different journeys,

Adele Anderson:

whether they're supporting them on a soul level versus dropping

Adele Anderson:

into a life and you know, being that person that is within your

Adele Anderson:

your pod. And I really believe that Willis is in my pod that he

Adele Anderson:

is my soul connection and why I say that is there's there seems

Adele Anderson:

to be Indic Keishon you know, I met my husband. One weekend in

Adele Anderson:

Whistler, I was with a girlfriend having coffee outside

Adele Anderson:

and an outdoor cafe. I looked across 1000 people, and I saw

Adele Anderson:

his face. And I said to her, I don't know who he is, but I'm

Adele Anderson:

going to marry him. Wow. And then he's walking through the

Adele Anderson:

crowd. And he walks up the stairs behind me, he leans over

my shoulder, and he kisses my girlfriend on her cheek, he

Adele Anderson:

says, Hi, Anna. And I'm like, Who is he? And why do I not know

Adele Anderson:

him?

Jane Stark:

Wow.

Adele Anderson:

And, you know, so these connections, like, how

Adele Anderson:

would that ever happen? And, you know, so 30 year relationship

Adele Anderson:

later, I really feel that Willis and I are a soul connection.

Adele Anderson:

And, you know, I do believe that we see our loved ones again,

Adele Anderson:

some of them will be in our pods as our influencers and you know,

Adele Anderson:

working with us as our sole development, and then others

Adele Anderson:

will be in other pods that, you know, will come together, but

Adele Anderson:

you're interested in that type of information. These are

Adele Anderson:

fascinating books to read.

Jen Lang:

Yeah, I was reading mice, I received the book, many

Jen Lang:

lives, many masters for Christmas, which is, of course,

Jen Lang:

is a classic and hypnotherapy and past life regression. So

Jen Lang:

it's a quick and easy read. And that was that, you know, again,

Jen Lang:

a great, great confirmation of a lot of the work that a I've

Jen Lang:

experienced for myself, and also be I've done with, I've done

Jen Lang:

with clients, too. So fascinating. Jane,

Jane Stark:

I have so many questions, but unfortunately,

Jane Stark:

you know, we'll have to, we'll have to have a part three and

Jane Stark:

part four. I know. So, you mentioned that NLP really helped

Jane Stark:

you. When after the near death experience, and just why am I

Jane Stark:

here? What how did I survive? Can you just give us a brief

Jane Stark:

kind of walkthrough of how how that looked? And what what you

Jane Stark:

came to with that?

Adele Anderson:

You know, I, it was interesting, I never told

Adele Anderson:

anybody about my near death experience for 25 years. Wow.

Adele Anderson:

But behind the scenes, I was silently searching for the

Adele Anderson:

reasons behind my survival. And I first became a homeopath, that

Adele Anderson:

mind body connection, the communication that is

Adele Anderson:

continually happening between our mind and our body, the

Adele Anderson:

messengers that go back and forth, the feelings that we have

Adele Anderson:

are not random. And understanding that there is a

Adele Anderson:

there is a language, and a lot of times it's lost, because we

Adele Anderson:

just haven't been taught about that. So I did gain some

Adele Anderson:

fundamental knowledge of mind and body through that process.

Adele Anderson:

And that was helpful, but it still didn't give me the

Adele Anderson:

answers. It wasn't until I understood, you know, the

Adele Anderson:

fundamentals of the subconscious brain, which works at 120 to

Adele Anderson:

140,000 miles per hour downloads 40,000 bits of information per

Adele Anderson:

second different than the neocortex, which is our greatest

Adele Anderson:

Phaedrus invention, but works at about 120 miles per hour

Adele Anderson:

downloads 40 bits of information, and we retained

Adele Anderson:

seven. Right? So, you know, this is brilliant, but slow kicks in.

Adele Anderson:

Because it's analyzing and rationalizing. And really, this

Adele Anderson:

powerful brain, middle brain is where all the action takes

Adele Anderson:

place. And the speed of it is enormous. But the function of

Adele Anderson:

it, its only purpose is to keep us alive physiologically that

Adele Anderson:

was working in my favor.

Jen Lang:

Definitely, then

Adele Anderson:

the second thing that it's supposed to do is to

Adele Anderson:

do exactly what we ask, ah, this becomes, you know, this is like

Adele Anderson:

the perfect storm, keep me alive, keep my survival and do

Adele Anderson:

exactly what I asked they match up. If I would have said, I

Adele Anderson:

really want to get out, I can't get out. I don't know what to

Adele Anderson:

do. I'm not good enough. I don't believe I would have survived.

Adele Anderson:

Oh, I just felt like I'm getting out of the plane now. And that's

Adele Anderson:

another key is our brain doesn't understand the past or the

Adele Anderson:

future. Those are manmade ideals. You only understand the

Adele Anderson:

moment, the decision that we're making right now can influence

Adele Anderson:

the future cannot influence the past. But we have to understand

Adele Anderson:

that our brains capacity is to work with what we ask now. A

Adele Anderson:

little bit like a computer the information that you put in so

Adele Anderson:

us as coaches off often, you know, have our clients visualize

Adele Anderson:

the future that they want. So think of this as putting the

Adele Anderson:

programs in the data is going into the computer so that then

Adele Anderson:

we can recognize that when we get there. But if we don't have

Adele Anderson:

that information in And if we say I want to do that tomorrow,

Adele Anderson:

next week, or maybe or try, our brain doesn't know what to do

Adele Anderson:

with that. And so it does nothing. And this is where the

Adele Anderson:

capacity for our belief systems to really sabotage us come in. I

Adele Anderson:

can't do it. I don't know enough. Why me? You know, or,

Adele Anderson:

you know, we could get into victimhood. Opening, none of

Adele Anderson:

those offer us solutions, and none of them turn on that switch

Adele Anderson:

to have this brain working for us.

Jane Stark:

Yeah, it's interesting stories. As you're

Jane Stark:

sharing that and reflecting on my own life, I can see all of a

Jane Stark:

sudden, I'm like, wow, I went through a period about, I don't

Jane Stark:

know, 15 years ago, where my husband and I were like, have,

Jane Stark:

we felt like a black cloud over us? Like, it's just an end, my

Jane Stark:

journey has been completely shifting that and, and so I'm

Jane Stark:

just having a bit of an aha moment of like, wow, it is so

Jane Stark:

powerful. And as you share that, I can see where I did that

Jane Stark:

personally in my life, over the last 10 years.

Adele Anderson:

And you guys talk about radical

Adele Anderson:

responsibility. Yeah. So this, is it. Like, we take

Adele Anderson:

responsibility for every single thing that's going on? Yeah,

Adele Anderson:

there's no sidestepping it. Right. We choose

Jane Stark:

to read chose to save yourself that day.

Adele Anderson:

Yes. And I didn't, I wasn't, you know, and

Adele Anderson:

this is, it shows up in the language that we use. No, it not

Adele Anderson:

taking responsibility is becoming a victim, saying that I

Adele Anderson:

don't have the ability over my own circumstance, where when we

Adele Anderson:

own it, we step into our power, this is where the game changes.

Jane Stark:

Absolutely.

Jen Lang:

Oh, there's so much more I want to unpack here. But

Jen Lang:

I think we'll have to save this for another episode. But I'm the

Jen Lang:

owning it piece, I'm going to sort of park this idea in here

Jen Lang:

is the I hear so many of the other, I'm going to say

Jen Lang:

objections to the owning it and excuses to the owning it, and

Jen Lang:

they're out there. And the owning your ship piece and not

Jen Lang:

everyone else's, that really just sums it up. It's like it,

Jen Lang:

Elva gives you permission to shut out all that other noise.

Jen Lang:

And decide how you want to, like you chose to live, how you want

Jen Lang:

to live is, is up to you, you know, I have so many wonderful

Jen Lang:

examples of friends who've, you know, moved up from other

Jen Lang:

countries in admin complete poverty, who made very conscious

Jen Lang:

decisions early on, and are now you know, keynote speakers in

Jen Lang:

the UK have having made these decisions that buy that along

Jen Lang:

their journey that, you know, so it's, and it's not, it's not as

Jen Lang:

simple as quote unquote, laziness or anything like that.

Jen Lang:

It's that it's everything tied in. It's those thought patterns.

Jen Lang:

It's those beliefs. It's the conditions in which you've been

Jen Lang:

raised. It's your tendencies. Based on the NLP pieces, it's

Jen Lang:

all of these factors that bring you to a place where you are.

Jen Lang:

Oh, so fascinating.

Jane Stark:

Yeah, the biggest, like, what I'm hearing too, is

Jane Stark:

it's the power of having that awareness of your language. It

Jane Stark:

can be if I'm, you know, hearing it, like as simple as starting

Jane Stark:

there. What is your language saying? If you're again, you

Jane Stark:

know, if you put it to a money thing, if you're talking in lack

Jane Stark:

all the time.

Adele Anderson:

Yeah. And it's body, mind and soul, right? So,

Adele Anderson:

I love words impact all aspects of our beingness. And, you know,

Adele Anderson:

they're a really easy one to target as weight people, you

Adele Anderson:

know, people love to talk about weight diets or, you know,

Adele Anderson:

universal, there's always the next greatest fix, but it really

Adele Anderson:

begins in the minds, you know, how do I see myself what do I

Adele Anderson:

believe about me? So here is somebody who wants to lose

Adele Anderson:

weight. And you know, they're they're doing well, maybe

Adele Anderson:

they're on a diet, maybe they're exercising whatever it is, they

Adele Anderson:

might do. At some point, they're gonna fall off the cabbage

Adele Anderson:

truck, it just happens. So you know, get back up. Keep moving

Adele Anderson:

towards your goal. But where we see the sabotage is that you

Adele Anderson:

show up at work, you go to a dinner party, and someone says

Adele Anderson:

to you the great and the thought that goes through your mind as I

Adele Anderson:

thought I looked fat, I changed three times before I got here.

Adele Anderson:

thing though, so when the mind deep within the mind, we have

Adele Anderson:

this belief system that's tripping us up. That's tripping

Adele Anderson:

us up for our ability, in this case to You know, get the body

Adele Anderson:

that we like. And then we could get into the, into the we're not

Adele Anderson:

a body

Jane Stark:

that is another conversation to go to have a

Adele Anderson:

body just a little quick thing. And you are

Adele Anderson:

telling your body that you don't love your body. What then this

Adele Anderson:

poor body that's supporting you through this life that you have

Adele Anderson:

feels unloved. And what happens then? Right? So love yourself.

Jane Stark:

It even reminds me of that language, that x

Jane Stark:

experiment, I can't remember the specific name of it, but where

Jane Stark:

you either a plant or we did it with an apple in our house, but

Jane Stark:

you cut an apple in half, and you put b one is the good apple

Jane Stark:

and one is the bad apple and the bad apple rots faster. And you

Jane Stark:

end every day like we did it with our kids to show the power

Jane Stark:

of our line of language and belief. And you know, and so

Jane Stark:

yeah, and I mean, try it it and I heard somebody refer to it the

Jane Stark:

other day and saying what they did with plant and the one that

Jane Stark:

was the bad plant where you speak to the bad plant in

Jane Stark:

negative and in negative language. So you've come up to

Jane Stark:

me like, I hate you. You're ugly, you're whatever. It dies.

Jane Stark:

Yeah, way faster. And this is without watering it.

Adele Anderson:

Yeah, they have generational memories. Yeah.

Adele Anderson:

Yeah, well actually shrink away from somebody who's been mean to

Adele Anderson:

them in the past. It's quite fascinating. The whole

Jane Stark:

Yeah, so it just reminds me though to the body

Jane Stark:

part of the you're talking about right? Like if that's the power

Jane Stark:

of our words to things like, like an apple or a plant that

Jane Stark:

are living think about what our body is doing in reaction to

Jane Stark:

that. Language.

Jen Lang:

Yes, cells we haven't even touched on like the

Jen Lang:

frequency of sound and the frequencies of love. So there's

Jen Lang:

like the shape of the words. But I've obviously I work in music

Jen Lang:

and frequencies. So when we're calling in positive frequency,

Jen Lang:

and our cellular structure is a huge portion of it as water I

Jen Lang:

think, Jane, you're talking about the dr. Emoto. syndrome is

Jen Lang:

probably the core right? Yeah. And that frequency, the sound

Jen Lang:

and frequencies of love and expansion and growth and

Jen Lang:

acceptance of belonging all like yes, we've given words to them.

Jen Lang:

But if you are the, the words are carried on the frequency. So

Jen Lang:

all of those need to be in harmony together to make that

Jen Lang:

word, the most potent and the most powerful that it can be for

Jen Lang:

that situation. Oh so much.

Jane Stark:
